-I talked with David Wright and he said it hasn’t been decided where he hits in the order. However, he does appreciate the theory he could see more fastballs with Jose Reyes on base.
Personally, I leave Wright alone. Why mix with the offensive chemistry you had last year? Paul Lo Duca’s main attribute as a hitter is being able to advance runners, and that’s taken away from him eighth. What’s he going to do, move a guy to second so the pitcher can drive him in? Also, if Lo Duca is that much an offensive liability, by hitting him back-to-back with the pitcher basically wastes that inning.
-Duaner Sanchez said he hasn’t made up his mind on surgery, but is leaning in that direction. Not that he really has a choice.
-Aaron Sele appears to have the long relief job with Jorge Sosa being optioned. You can read about Sele tomorrow in The Journal News. Sele pitched in a simulated game this afternoon.
