Oliver Perez has given up four runs through five. Not real good, but remember, we’ve seen him a lot worse.

i thought he pitched ok. not terrible,not great. as long as he’s healthy thats fine at this point in spring training. I thought the nationals did a really good job fouling off alot of pitches and then going the other way.
even if he doesn’t dominate, I think he will pitch above .500 and have an ERA below 5.
I think the Mets need him to do at least that.
As I said before weak pitching all the way around.
I like Glavine and that is about it. I think Maine will get better, but this is year two. Pelfrey will be a rookie. El Duque is what he is about 500.
This guy – he is what he is – live arm trying to “get it”.
Then we got the pen with our closer the caridac kid. The pen was much better last year. I am most excited about the rookie Smith and Schoenweiss seems effective.
There will be a lot of pressure on the offense.
Don’t forget Pedro was the Ace in the first part of the season so we had two solid starts in our rotation.
It doesn’t look like we will run away with it this year. Hoping we have enough and can find a way to gel.
