March 26: Mota has say; teammates defend him

“Guillermo Mota”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6214, he of the 50-game suspension without pay, showed up today. He was contrite and apologized, but never let in on why he was tempted to try steroids in the first place.

It was interesting to see how his teammates responded to him. He was treated like a conquering hero.

when asked if there was a feeling Mota had let his teammates down: “And politicians never lie? Name me one profession where everything is hunky-dory and I’ll give you a zillion dollars. It’s over with.’’

The beneficiary of his suspension is Chan Ho Park. If Mota is here, there’s no place for Park in the bullpen.
