The Mets say Lastings Milledge has a contusion of the right hand. There’s no fracture. He will be treated with ice and anti-inflammatories and is day-to-day.

Thank God for resilient young bones. That pitch hits one of the senior AARP Mets and you probably have a compound fracture! Milledge deserves to make the team—at least initially out of spring training. Hopefully the x-rays are right and it’s nothing more than a contusion. It would be cruel blow if he were derailed by an injury.
Phew! We are going to need young Milledge very, very much. Has anybody watched Green and Alou this spring closely? Now, I know your going to say “it’s just Spring training”,but, can it really be that easy to just turn it on a week from now? I don’t think so…
I worried about Alou as well, but it was pointed it out to me that the worse Alou does in ST, the better his regular season. If you check the numbers, you’ll find that’s true.
Hopefully, the trend continues!
