March 24: Sanchez returns to NY for MRI

Pedro Martinez might be right. Duaner Sanchez is returning to NY today for a MRI on his shoulder. Sanchez tore some scar tissue Thursday in his first session off the mound this spring.

Martinez said yesterday Sanchez shouldn’t be concerned with throwing, but in strengthening his shoulder. Sanchez said at the start of spring training that he hoped to be ready for Opening Day.

Depending on the outcome of MRI, the Mets might not know for awhile when he’ll pitch again.
