March 24: In-Game: Burgos pitching

Ambiorix Burgos is in there now and walks somebody right away. His problem is control, not so much the walks, but falling behind in the count and having to come in with the fastball.
When he falls behind he tends to overthrow and his ball flattens out in the strikezone. That explains in large part the 16 homers he gave up last year.
This in on how John Maine is doing in the split-squad game with Florida. He’s been hit for four runs on eight hits in four innings. It is his first stinker of the spring.
