-The boys play Baltimore at PSL tonight. Mike Pelfrey gets another chance to make his case he should be the fifth starter or better. He’ll be followed by Joe Smith, Pedro Feliciano and Jon Adkins.
-Smith has a chance to be in the bullpen, most likely at the expense of Ambiorix Burgos. Read about Smith tomorrow in The Journal News.
-John Maine, Billy Wagner and Aaron Heilman all threw on the off day.
-Duaner Sanchez has been making progress in his rehab and is still expected to throw off the mound this week.
-Ruben Sierra asked for and was given his release.
-GM Omar Minaya said the team hasn’t decided on 11 or 12 pitchers. Eleven could mean carrying both David Newhan and Ben Johnson on the bench.
