The engine is running on my ride home. A few observations:
Tom Glavine: Superb. He’s where he wants to be. I know this because that’s what he said.
Aaron Heilman: Passed his audition. He kept the ball down. However, being there is a health issue. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow.
Ambiorix Burgos: I thought he was going to make the team. Not so sure anymore. They say results don’t matter in spring training, but five runs in two innings. He needs work. Joe Smith is probably ahead of him now. Burgos probably throws the ball harder than anybody else on the staff, but straight fastballs are very hittable.
