Greetings all. Coming to you from Viera, where the Mets are playing Washington today.
Of course, the story of the day happened this morning. Wilie and Omar and their pow-wow with Duaner Sanchez. They came at us in waves. Acutally, Sanchez had left, but was called back by the PR staff.
“It was very productive,” Randolph said.
Sanchez was contrite, but that came as no surprise. He admitted he “should have been more responsible.” He also said he would apologize one-on-one to his teammates.
That’s a tough thing to do. As several have pointed out, if Sanchez comes back healthy and does his job, this will be forgotten in the end.
Sanchez will resume his rehab tomorrow. Sanchez and Minaya both gave the impression Opening Day would be a longshot.
