GM Omar Minaya said Pedro Martinez can begin his soft-toss throwing program as soon as he wants, maybe even tomorrow. He might wait until Sunday, because tomorrow is a home game and he probably doesn’t want to deal with us.
Said Minaya: “The news is very good. It is very positive.’’
It is the first step forward of the spring for Martinez, who said last week that if he can’t come back this time, he might be finished.
Positive news aside, we’re still talking August, and even then, there’s no telling how good he will be.
