To sweetlew: (RE: 1-2-3): Yup, got the sunscreen. Burned once and I learn. No, 1-2-3, doesn’t mean much, but it is better than getting raked. Sosa was down to all three hitters, which is key to him, and he got a strikeout on an off-speed pitch. You take your plusses where you get them.
To sheadenizen: (RE: Park): Park actually speaks pretty good English. And, Koufax is one of those guys whose greatness transcends any language.

Could Park actually understand a word Koufax said? Maybe pitching is the universal language….and words need not be spoken!

Yeah, lucky me to see Koufax. It’s a great perk to the job. No, he won’t be a uniformed roving instructor, but he informally chats with some of the pitchers. Chan Ho Park had better have been taking notes.

i had the pleasure of meeting Sandy when he was in Met camp working with Shawn Estes back in the day. he always hangs around b/c of his friendship w/ Fred Wilpon. always good to see him hanging around.
