One of the pitchers the Mets will keep an eye on in tomorrow’s intrasquad game is “Jason Vargas”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=7599, a lefthander acquired from the Marlins.
“I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far,’’ pitching coach Rick Peterson said. “He has a lot of potential.’’
Vargas, who will throw an inning, is one of several competing for the fifth starter job.
“They haven’t discussed a role with me, but I am looking to try and get into the rotation,’’ Vargas said.

He’s the guy I’m hoping is our number 5 but I’m realistic and think Chan No Park will be the number 5 guy.
Calling him “Chan No Park” is ridiculous. IIRC, he did get a St. Lucie parking spot. It should be ‘Aaron No Park’.
