lo-duca-paul.jpgCatcher “Paul Lo Duca”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=6032 will shut it down today after taking a cortisone injection in his right hand yesterday. “I can’t swing the bat and I can’t throw,’’ he said.

Lo Duca has had the injection six years running. After having surgery after he was hit by a pitch that broke his hand in a minor league game, Lo Duca developed a cyst and on the follow through of a swing or throw, a tendon stretches over the area.

“This calms it down,’’ he said. “I have this every year. It’s something when I’m done playing I will take care of it.’’

Lo Duca says he’ll practice tomorrow.
