Here we are, inside of two weeks before pitchers and catchers report, and Steve Trachsel doesn’t have a new baseball home. He did win 15 games last season, but there’s been no offers. Maybe it’s because teams remember how he spit the bit in the playoffs, and seemingly mailed in his last start. That’s why the Mets couldn’t say goodbye fast enough.
Word is, he’d like to stay in the National League, and there’s been reported interest from St. Louis, Houston, Washington and LA.

anywhere but here….guess we should hope he goes to the nats or cards so we could beat up on him often…imagine if he goes to the cards we may face him in the opening series!! thats how bad their rotation is…kinda makes ours look good

Spit the bit? Wasn’t that Steve Trout?
I am sure he will catch with someone sooner or later. When someone goes down, Steve to the rescue!

Thats like someone throwing you a tow line hooked to a shark.
I think Trachsel’s going to the ‘Stros. This means no more 4-hour pitching appearances. He’s the slowest pitcher in the bigs. Supposedly, his awful playoff performance was attributed to his wife asking for a divorce over the phone (after 10-years). He was shook up pretty badly, so it was like losing three pitchers in our rotation: Pedro, El Duque, and Trax… plus, Bannister early in the season. I’ll miss his arm and his bat! Hopefully, Humber and Pelfrey will deliver!

I won’t miss Trachsel, “the human rain delay,” but I feel bad about all the shots people have taken at him since the LCS. Nothing in his career prior to that suggests that he wasn’t a hard worker or that he tanked in games, so he must have been going through something pretty bad at the time.
If only Pedro and El Duque had both been healthy, Trachsel likely would’ve been left off the playoff roster – and the Mets would’ve been World Champions.

are we talking there same TRASH-el? his first seasons were horrid. he was sent down for crying out loud. came back and i thought ok he will be good. and nope. same on trash. I would have a long conversation with a friend about TRASH. His pitching was always torturous to watch, he may have tried but he was long coming. His best season was last season and thats only because for some unknown reason the bats gave him runs. I always claimed he paid everyone off.
