The Mets have one less worry heading into spring training. “Carlos Delgado”:http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5178 told the AP in Puerto Rico his rehab from two surgeries is on schedule and he’ll be ready for spring training. Delgado had surgery in October on a tendon in his left elbow and on his right wrist for carpal tunnel syndrome.
He expects to take BP on Monday.
“I believe that I have recovered rather well. I am not 100 percent, but anyway, the doctors say that I am not supposed to be 100 percent right now,” Delgado said.
Delgado hit 38 homers with 114 RBI during the season, and batted .351 with four homers and 11 RBI in the playoffs.

Like I said Spring will asnwer all most of our questions on what the Mets will need besides the usual prayers from the die hards!
To Steve C. (RE: Injuries)
The word is positive on those Mets who underwent offseason surgery: Delgado, Lo Duca, Heilman
can we clone Lo Duca? he is by far the best met catcher since “the kid” gary carter.
To Steve C. (RE: Lo Duca)
Even better than Piazza?
yes. lo duca far surpasses piazza with catching stealers. that alone merits him. Piazza had the bat and could catch. but damned if i could steal second off him. Lo Duca’s bat and running aint too shabby either. So yeah. to me piazza was a first baseman pretending to be a catcher. ;-]
To Steve C. (RE: Piazza)
I can accept that.
I rather have Piazza in his prime.
Imagine Delgado ( didn’t know about the surgery list posted ) and Mike back to back with Wright before or after them.
I like LoDuca, I do, but not THAT much.

To Dave (RE: Piazza)
I’ve always liked Piazza and I’m the belief he won more games for them with his bat than he lost defensively. Yes, he and Delgado back-to-back would be pretty imposing.
I came across your site while I was doing research for my school paper. I was so hooked, I fell way behind on my work. When I get finished doing my research I will be back for more. Thanks for the great post’s.
