January 15: More on Willie

January
15

You guys were great in responding to my posts on Pedro and Willie. To Raincntry, you nailed it on Willie.

He didn’t get Manager of the Year because the Mets had the money and the Marlins did not. But, Randolph has to get a lot of credit for how he handled the pitching staff. He and pitching coach were masterful in how the staff was juggled. That team could have fallen apart at any time last year with the holes in the rotation, but he kept it together with retreads and the bullpen.

I believe they will wrap up Willie before the season. If the Mets had a theatre for the dramatic, they’d announce it on Opening Day. That would be great. But, it will get done.
