The Mets are still talking to the Royals about reliever Ambiorix Burgos. A team spokesman said not to expect an announcement tonight.
Good job – keep up the good work.
Ditto, you are doing a great job with the meetings so far.

Thanks John, no other NY writer has been on top of the new as much as you have… real quick… CNNSI is saying this deal is done… are they jumping the gun?
I said it first John in an earlier post you have gained tremendous street creditability with mets fans this winter meetings. Your putting yourself on the map as THE met beat reporter.
You are the man, get some sleep and we will look for your scoop in the morning.
BTW the next time you get Omar’s ear just tell him we have faith in him…........and sign barry zito!!!!!!!!!!
Good morning John,
Several sources say Burgos for Bannister is a done deal. I think it is an excellent move. Bannister is a steady starter but will be no more than a fourth or fifth guy. Burgos has electric arsenal and alot more upside. Please tell Omar it was a great move.
I like this move. Peterson helped take a couple hard but erratic throwers last season and turn them into productive memebrs of the team (Perez and Julio). Deal from a strength and get a younger guy for him to work with, great move.
Also, any legs to the Harden rumors John? I actually think Lastings, Heilman and Humber is the type of trade Mr. Moneyball would do. (Has to be Humber if the Mets are taking on someone with injury issues in my opinion).
To Anon …
There are legs, but not straight up Milledge for Harden. The Mets will have to sweeten the pot.
