You can understand Jeff Borris saying it, afterall, he has to protect his client. However, Barry Bonds’ agent overstated it the other night when he said, “I think, for the last 14 years, they’ve taken him for granted … and they’re taking him for granted now.’’
For the past 14 years, Bonds has had pretty much free reign in San Francisco to do what he wants, when he wants, and to hell with everybody else. C’mon, that he’s cheated is only a glimpse into his arrogance.
The Giants have gone after Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Lee, and are making a run at Manny Ramirez. It’s clear indication bringing Bonds back isn’t Priority One.
Privately, don’t you know MLB hopes Bonds goes unsigned and is forced to retire? I’m thinking before it’s over, Bonds will end up back with the Giants, who are used to the headache he provides.

Any chance of Bonds coming to the Mets or Yankees?
To Anon ….
I don’t see it happening. Neither team needs that headache. The Mets just signed a leftfielder and the Yankees have Hideki Matsui in left and Jason Giambi as their projected DH.
Things aren’t moving with Bonds now, but I’m still guessing he stays with the Giants.
I know it’s a longshot but it would be a great thing for baseball if Barry was not offered a contract by any team. A bit of Karmic payback for the sum of all his transgressions over the years.

I would love to see it. I know that’s not an objective thing to say, but I’m not objective when it comes to Bonds. He’s not a good guy. He cheated. He’s lied. And, I really would hate to see one of the most cherished records in sports broken by somebody like him.
I Dont want him here.
He will get signed, just not at Shea.

You don’t have to worry about Bonds coming here.
