The deadline for teams to offer salary arbitration to their free agents is tomorrow. By extending arbitration a team will get a draft-pick compensation if the player goes elsewhere. The player then has a week to accept or decline. If he accepts he’s considered signed by his old team with the salary to be determined. If he declines he’s on the market and can talk to anyone.
The Mets’ list includes Cliff Floyd, Steve Trachsel, Darren Oliver, Roberto Hernandez, Chris Woodward, Guillermo Mota and Tom Glavine. The most likely one to be offered arbitration is Glavine.
