Pedro Martinez told the AP in the Dominican Republic that his rehab process “is better than expected.’’
Your guess is as good as mine to what that means considering he’s not doing any throwing. He’s not expected back until after the All-Star break, and the best guess is sometime in August, so I wouldn’t get too excited about anything he says right now.
The way I’m looking at it is in the past tense. As far as I’m concerned, until I see Martinez on the mound pitching to real hitters, he’s a non-entity.

they should have traded pedro instead of bradford.

I can’t imagine anyone actually counting on Martinez coming back. He has to be looked at as a bonus.
Wasn’t it a month ago when Pedro said he was thinking about retiring? Now he’s doing better? You’re right, until he pitches, it doesn’t mean anything.
Agreed.
