Roger Clemens doesn’t know about next season, which means the same old story this winter. Clemens’ agents, the Hendricks brothers, will hold court at the winter meetings, telling us Roger will make up his mind sometime after the holidays.
The players will be Houston, the Yankees and Boston.
Forget the Mets. Of the three, the Mets might be closer to winning the World Series. But, Clemens is concerned with his legacy in Boston and New York, which is why he’ll probably won’t choose between the two and stay with the Astros, who seems willing to give him the money and the liberal work schedule.
There are reasons to give the Yankees and Red Sox and encore, but nothing compelling about the Mets for him.
