Should this series go to seven games, and right now the Mets would gladly take it if guaranteed, Darren Oliver could be the starter over Steve Trachsel. Willie Randolph left that possibility open, but if Trachsel were ready (bruised right thigh) he didn’t discount that either.
Here’s what else is going on:
* Orlando Hernandez threw 50 pitches in the bullpen and said he could go in the next round.
* When the playoffs are over, coaches Manny Acta and Jerry Manuel are expected to interview for the managerial opening in San Francisco. Acta is also expected to talk with Washington and Texas.
* David Wright needs to step it up. He’s 0-for-9 in the NLCS.
* Cliff Floyd said he’s able to pinch-hit, but not ready to play in the field.
Be back later with the lineups.
