The NLCS is tied at a game apiece, but the momentum isn’t equal. With a win, the Mets would have been up 2-0 and guaranteed of returning the series to Shea no matter what. No, the Mets might not see Shea until next year. It could happen.
The Mets’ bullpen is a strength, but it was torched for five runs tonight. Guillermo Mota has been hit hard, and we have to wonder what the thinking is with him over Aaron Heilman. Billy Wagner, well, he’s been so good for so long, and maybe he was due. But this couldn’t have come at a worse time.
