Willie Randolph said he has no regrets about going with Floyd. Then again, he wouldn’t admit it anyway. Randolph is like that. He makes a decision and doesn’t look back.
The Mets can’t replace Floyd and Willie said he’s available tonight as a pinch-hitter. I wouldn’t count on him for anything more than that. And, if he did and got on base, the Mets would have to burn a pinch-runner. That burns two players with one move.
What else is going on?
* I’m figuring a short leash tonight for John Maine.
* Tom Glavine wouldn’t bite on the comments made by Albert Pujols. “Everybody is entitled to their opinion,” Glavine said. Nobody expect anything else from Glavine. Pujols, by the way, goes in on an 0-for-10 slide.
* Scott Spiezio playing third over Scott Rolen tonight.
