It appears the Mets lost the gamble on Cliff Floyd, who re-injured his strained left Achilles tendon running out a ball in the second inning and was replaced by Endy Chavez. Floyd appeared all right running after fly balls in the first and second innings, but blew things out rounding first on a foul ball. Floyd stayed in to complete the at-bat but didn’t come out to play defense in the third.
If Floyd can’t play for the remainder of the series the Mets will have to shorthanded.
