Sunday night … long day of travel. Watching the last few innings of the St. Louis game. Figuring out where I’m going at the end of the week. Cardinals-Mets has the makings of a great series. Both teams play it the right way.
I’ve been saying it was important the Mets swept because it allows them to set up their rotation. They’ll have Tom Glavine going in Game 1. By the same token, because the Cardinals couldn’t sweep, it forced them to use Chris Carpenter tonight, meaning he won’t go until Game 3. That’s an early advantage that goes to the Mets.

I’m kind of glad it’s not Mets/Padres, because if NYM were to win, I would absolutely hate seeing shots of Mike Piazza in the opposing dugout looking sad.
JR …
He didn’t look too happy last night.
