The left Achilles tendon Cliff Floyd said could “go at any time,” went in the third inning when he scored on Shawn Green’s double. The Mets said he stretched the tendon and listed him day-to-day.
Floyd aggravated the injury in Game 2 at Shea Stadium and entered the game with discomfort.
If the Mets wrap this up tonight, Game 1 of the NL Championship Series would begin Wednesday at Shea. That leaves Floyd with three days of aggressive treatment, but it doesn’t look promising.
