For those who mailed in your faith in the Mets after the injuries to Orlando Hernandez and Pedro Martinez, remember this about the playoffs: Strange things happen and things don’t always go according to script.
Losing two pitchers doesn’t mean they are cooked.
The Mets beat Baltimore in ‘69, the Dodgers waxed Oakland in ‘88 and Cincinnati did the same in ‘90. You just never know. Emotions always play a big part.
And, don’t forget, we’re talking about the Dodgers. These guys won only 88 games this season as the wild card. We’re talking about a very beatable team.
By the way—- nice ovation for Hernandez. And, a huge one for John Maine.
I’ll be online during the game, so if you want to chat let’s do it.

How about that double play at the plate? Any insight into how that happened? Will the third base coach be unemployed soon?
Head up play by the Mets, heads down play for LA … JD Drew, the second runner was only a few feet behind the Jeff Kent. They either get two runs or two outs…..
