i really like perez's potential, with that being said….......i really hope we sweep now
Maybe I missed it, but has an explanation yet been offered as to why Trachsel took his little sabbatical last week? I'm all for player's privacy and normally have no inclination to pry into anyone's personal life, but now I'm somewhat concerned that there's some sort of distraction at play with him. Trachsel seems to have a relatively delicate psyche to begin with.
why are they going with perez over dave williams. perez has an 9 million ERA and williams is regarded by everyone in baseball to be a far more solid pitcher!!
See more information on Travel Lodge here.
I agree with 'siddfinch' about Trachsel – is there anything you can tell us about him that might affect his pitching (except of course all the cross-country travel)
Also, has the time of the Saturday game been announced?
Thanks, John
Trachsel is a vet. Hopefully he is focused and pitches one of his gems. If not our offense at least for one game is clicking. We should power through.
If the Mets choose not to share on his personal issues so be it. It's all on the field anyway.
Go Mets.
Dave
They will treat TRASH-el like Maine. Pull him after 4-5 .. then let the bull pen do the rest.
It's too important to allow him to stay up to his self destruct stage…
John, et al.
Any chance Endy gets the start over Green tonight? He actually hits lefties pretty well.
I hope so. I do not like Greens fielding. it looks like he just stands there and expects the ball to go to his glove!
FYI – hey john, tell this guy to get his facts straight before bad mouthing shea…
for sports blog
ok John I am upset again… just read the Fans2 thing about how can you tell a met fan from a yankee fan?!
WHAT the?!
A real met fan could care less aout the STANKEES unless Mets were playin them. I never watch a stabkee game ever .. dont care dont wanna know how they did. they arent my team.
steve c. – don't get all sweaty over the Fans2 thing. How'd you like to be known as the Daffiness Boys?
Dan …
Bite your tongue. Don't even think of using the word ``sweep.'' It's bad luck to think it before winning the second game. Don't forget, the Yankees were thinking sweep, too.
Oh yes, I like Perez's potential, too. A live arm. You want strikeout pitchers in October.
SiddFinch …
They aren't telling us anything. There's all sorts of speculation. He simply said the other day, ``it's been addressed.'' I'm hearing rumors, but I won't spread them.
As far as it being a distraction, remember this: It's a family matter and he's a human being. There's no telling how he'll respond.
Fan …
When they brought Pedro Martinez back off the DL, somebody was to get bumped from the rotation and it was Williams. Had they any way of knowing, they would have kept Williams sharp. The choice was to go with the strikeout pitcher, although with their bullpen, I might have chosen the guy more likely to get you to the sixth with the least amount of damage.
Joan …
No time yet for Saturday or Sunday. It's all TV and MLB. A lot depends on the outcome of A's-Twins. If that series is over, there won't be a game played on the West Coast. All that goes into deciding the time of the game.
Dave …
The only thing the Mets are saying is that it isn't a physical issue concerning him. It's family and they aren't saying. With Trachsel anyway the Mets need to score, score and score some more. They gave him an average of six runs a game this year. They'll need to do it again.
Steve C. ....
A couple of things:
On Trachsel – They'll have a quick hook because this series will be won or lost by the Met bullpen and bats.
On Green – Before you get down on Green's defense, remember he got to the ball quickly and made a strong throw to get the two runners out at the plate. If he doesn't make that play, things could be a lot different.
Nate …
Willie said Endy Chavez could get a start. I'll have the lineups posted as soon as I get them. I like Endy a lot. He brings a lot to the table. I thought they might start him over Floyd, but with Cliff going deep yesterday that's not going to happen. Green was 0-for-4 with two strikeouts yesterday and didn't look good. So maybe that's something they'll do.
Dan …
Let them win Game 2 before talking sweep. Look at the Yankees today. They are getting a bye into the World Series.
The choice of Perez is because he's a strikeout pitcher and that always is important this time of year.
I've certainly got some way to go before the site about Travel Writer meets the standards of your blog.
im not saying sweep out of arrogance, far from it,im saying sweep so oliver perez is left standing at the alter. I love perez's talent, but in the playoffs where it really matters,he makes me just a bit nervous
Perez has K ability that's true, but so don't a lot of pitchers…that's the dumbest reason for putting him on this roster that I've ever seen. Tell me what he's done to lead anyone to believe he'll pitch well if called upon at all in these playoffs? He has potential but right now that means nothing.
To follow up my last comment…I'd have much rather seen someone like Williams or even Bannister. I dont even think Perez deserved to be on this roster.
It was clear that the shaft in her womb was causing her extreme distress, digging through her cervix and into her uterus, and threatening to thrust further into her with every blow of the vicious whips on the horse girls. lesbian-naked lesbian-oralsex lesbian-lady lesbian-cock lesbian-sexy [url]Clearly the woman wielding the whip had incredible strength. We had talked before about my sexual preference and how I felt about being with a woman. What could she do? She felt the woman's hand slide under the waistband of her panties, then slowly make its way between her legs.
