Another quality start for John Maine, three runs in six innings, making it almost certain that he’ll get the ball in the postseason. However, there was something far more interesting to see in the Mets’ clubhouse after the game.
There was a signed taped over Lastings Milledge’s locker that read: “Know your place, Rook. Your teammates.”
Evidently, his act is wearing thin.
Milledge wouldn’t talk about it, and several Mets dismissed it as “rookie hazing.” However, this went deeper than making him wear woman’s clothes after a road trip.
One veteran said, “we all need to know our place every now and then.” And, when asked if it was deserving, said, “a little bit.”
