Tonight’s game will be made up as part of a doubleheader tomorrow. Dave Williams and Oliver Perez for the Mets against John Smoltz and Kyle Davies. Why they opened the gates in the first place is beyond me. This stuff happens all the time and it is ridiculous.
Not only were they going to make the public sit through the rain, but make their players work in it. With the investment these teams have in these guys it is crazy to risk somebody getting hurt.
Talk with you tomorrow.

Hi John –
Whose call is it anyway? A week ago the Yankees played through part of Hurricane Ernesto until the umps called it in the 8th – after which Michael Kay said that the attendance that day was 53 thousand. (Of course that was ‘tickets sold’).
I’m only familiar with the Mets and Yankees who are both notorious for making these late calls in obvious bad weather. What happens in other parks?
I’m sure the teams are looking at the $$$$$ income of the game but do they ever think about the safety of their $$$$$ players in the inclement weather?
I survived the long weekend. And I see TRASH-el didnt dissappoint me :-(
Today at 1pm .. mlb.com here i come!
Hi Joan …
Nope. They think of the money. That’s their first, second and third considerations.
