Hello from Denver, where buffalo is on the menu. They say it tastes like steak, but nothing tastes like a great steak. Leaner, maybe, which isn’t a bad thing.
Arrived this morning. Bought the first edition of Hogan’s Heroes to entertain me on the plane.
Some odds and ends until Mets-Rockies tomorrow:
- Pedro Martinez rehabbing in Florida. Willie Randolph is saying three or four starts is what he’ll get for the playoffs. On the plus side, and this is only conjecture, but Martinez hardly did any heavy throwing in spring training, missed a month in mid-season and now is out another three weeks. He should be well rested, if nothing else.
- Oliver Perez gets another start Thursday at Colorado. Sure he was erratic, but erratic means there was also a plus side. Seven strikeouts in five innings means he has life on his pitches.
- Tom Glavine seems good to go Friday in Houston.
Talk with you tomorrow. Night all.
