The Mets are saying Tom Glavine’s condition isn’t serious and won’t require surgery and he can begin physical activity in two days and is a week to 10 days from pitching. That means probably the Houston series. This weekend against Philly look for Brian Bannister or Oliver Perez to be brought up.
Glavine will be treated with blood thinners, perhaps something as simple as aspirin.
As of now, the worst damage are starts missed tonight and Sunday against Philadelphia. This is the best possible news the Mets and Glavine could have hoped for. Glavine will address things this afternoon.
