Here’s the math on a baseball season.
No matter how good or bad a team is, it will lose at least 60 games and win 60, guaranteed. That’s 120, so the season comes down to how it does in the remaining 42.
Last night was one of the 60 on the down side. Orlando Hernandez pitched the worst game of his professional career, and that overshadowed Jose Reyes’ three-homer game. Mets get ripped 11-4 tonight.
Bet most Mets, outside of Hernandez and Reyes, have forgotten what happened tonight. You should, too.
