Took the morning train in to DC. I had it planned that way all along. So glad I didn’t have to fight my way through an airport today. It’s getting harder and harder to fly, even before this. I can see hotels stocking up on toothpaste and hand lotion now that you can’t take that on board.
Waiting for the day when they’ll make us fly in the nude.
Cabbie on the way to RFK Stadium got delayed in traffic, behind a car that was idling with the driver talking to somebody standing next to car who was on a cell phone. That can’t be a good thing.
Driver sat on the horn, said something I wouldn’t even try to get into the paper and told me, “This isn’t a good neighborhood. You want to stay out of here.’’
Gee thanks.
I’ll check back later with the lineups and any pre-game buzz.

Aw man, thats censorship! what happened to freedom of the press and freedom of expression. LMAO
So John tell us, is LoDuca getting a break because he needs it? or because of his “situation”?
And ya know Maybe Milledge needs to find a different position, I cannot say i am thrilled with his fielding skills. Ledee did a decent job. It was odd having 3 new guys thrown in and we still won. I think we have been given a sign from the great Casey Stengel, this just may be our year.
Hi John –
I’ve made that trip by train – my brother – John – lives about 10 minutes from BWI. Mass transit in that area is OK and the DC Union Station is great since it was renovated.
Incidentally, my brother recently called me from RFK during a game to ask me why Frank Robinson still had a job – apparently Frank was talking loud enough for him to overhear some choice remarks Frank was making.
I’m not even going to ask about Lo Duca…........
I agree with Joan in that DC Union Station is indeed a beautiful place.
But it seems to me that the Post has it in for Paul LoDuca for some reason. What gives? They don’t accuse him of beating his wife and (as of yet) he hasn’t bet on baseball. So why set out to publicly humiliate him?
I think Paul probably didn’t autograph a baseball for a Post editor’s kid and this is the editor’s personal vendetta.
Tell Paul I said to hang in there and that I am boycotting the Post!
Steve C. ...
Lo Duca in the starting lineup tonight. Mets released statement supporting him, but then, what else could they do?
Regarding Milledge’s defensive prowess, I think his problem is he lets him mind wander. And, there could be times when he hustles a little more. Other than that, what more can you ask for?
Joan and the good Dr. Mesmo …
Right about Union Station. It really was clean, too. That’s an upset for train stations.
Now, about Lo Duca … this surfaced in Texas from what I hear and their gossip writers hooked on to this like a leech and are sucking ever drop of blood out of this that they can.
People get divorced all the time, and what Lo Duca did was stupid. But, last I checked, stupid wasn’t illegal. And, as of now his gambling is above board. Once we get some proof he gambled on baseball or broke the law, then there’s something there.
OK, i’ll buy that john.
as for Lo Duca. hey its the Post. Its a rag comparied to the Daily News. In brooklyn we called it the comics cause it was always in color.
