A little less than two hours remaining before the trade deadline and rumors are still buzzing. Word is Seattle and Oakland are now buying instead of selling, which should translate into the Mariners keeping Gil Meche and the Athletics holding onto Barry Zito.
Mets still talking to Oakland, but Omar Minaya continues reject overtures for Lastings Milledge.

Just think if this were the days of Steve Phillips , Lastings would be gone along with Beltran and Delgado, and we would have one outfielder and a down and out pitcher for it. All hail Omar!
