Sometimes, good things happen when you least expect them. While Mets-Reds waited out a 2:23 rain delay, Tom Hanks, Ron Howard and Dennis Miller showed up and held court. They are on a stadium tour and have already seen Baltimore and Pittsburgh.
They weighed in on several topics, including Pete Rose and baseball movies.
Hanks, who used to be a vendor at the Oakland Coliseum, even quoted Rose, who of his love for baseball, once said, “I’d walk through hell in a gasoline suit to play baseball.”
This, of course, was too good an opportunity for Miller to pass.
“Unfortunately, he would have bet whether he made it through,” Miller said.
How come Willie can’t come up with stuff like that?
