Six runs later, and Willie Randolph finally pulls Alay Soler. I would have pulled him before the slam, not let him stay in longer to let the carnage continue.
Interested to see what Paul Lo Duca said to Rodriguez when he crossed the plate. Maybe it was about not admiring his homers. Maybe it was not to celebrate too much. Whatever it is, it will be interesting. But, with Yankees up 9-4 in the third, Lo Duca really doesn’t much leverage to say anything right now.
For those scoring at home, tonight was Soler’s second straight start in which he gave up eight runs. The Mets, by the way, have not won in his last four starts.
