How worried are you about the Mets pitching? For awhile it looked as if the Mets solved the problems at the back end of their rotation, but I’m having my doubts. It’s not because Alay Soler was rocked for eight runs tonight by the Red Sox in the 9-4 loss.
It is because the Mets have lost the last three games he’s started, and, the last two started by Orlando Hernandez. Nobody expected what they did a few weeks ago in Arizona would continue the whole season, but more than a few times through the rotation and they’ve come up dry.
July will be here next week, and we’re going to be hearing a lot of reports of the Mets shopping for pitching. Some of the reports will be true, some will be fantasy. But, there will be reports because the Mets do need pitching.
The Mets were out of the game early, and Xavier Nady was out of it late with a bruised right wrist after being hit by a Julian Tavarez pitch. X-Rays were negative and he’s day-to-day.
