GAME #63: Mets 9, at Phillies 7.
ANALYSIS: Two plays exemplified how serious the Mets are about this year: Jose Reyes beating out a bunt to lead off the game and scoring from second after the ball got away from catcher Sal Fasano on a play at the plate in the sixth. Manager Willie Randolph spoke about keeping the pressure on and this was it.
ON THE MOUND: Tom Glavine gave up four homers for the second time in his career and didn’t make it out of the fifth. … Billy Wagner got his 13th save. … Chad Bradford replaced Glavine with one out and the bases loaded in the fifth and slammed the door.
AT THE PLATE: Carlos Beltran (18), Carlos Delgado (19) and David Wright (12) homered.
IN THE FIELD: Wright’s backhanded stab of Pat Burrell’s hard smash to start a double play in the ninth.
