The Mets are finishing up BP to the mellow sounds of Sinatra. Maybe the D-Backs are trying to lull the Mets to sleep.
Here’s the Mets’ order for tonight:
SS Jose Reyes: Hitting .214 on the trip.
C Paul Lo Duca: Hasn’t homered since May 13 at Milwaukee.
CF Carlos Beltran: Second in NL All-Star voting among outfielders.
Carlos Delgado: Three homers this week.
David Wright: .336, 11 HR, 42 RBI
Jose Valentin: Hitting .390 over last 10 games.
Endy Chavez: Five RBI in last three games.
Lastings Milledge: Has eight RBI in 10 major league games.
Alay Soler: Making fourth career start.
Pre-game buzz: Cliff Floyd won’t play until Tuesday in Philly. … Brian Bannister threw a three-inning simulation game in Port St. Lucie, Fla. … Everybody is available out of the bullpen. … Xavier Nady is eligible to come off the DL Tuesday, but Willie Randolph said he’s nowhere close. Until then, we’ll get Milledge and Chavez on the left and right corners. … Randolph keeps raving about Chavez’s defense.
