Greetings all …
Not a good view from my living room window. Could be nasty weather tonight—which fits Barry Bonds’ mood—so wear a jacket and be prepared to stay late. There might be a rain delay on your horizon.
Tom Glavine going after seven straight tonight. It’s going to be tough, but if he keeps on like he has it’s not impossible to get 300 this year. The odds might be a little long, but what a story that would be. At 5-0 last month, he might be the Mets player of the month for May.
Carlos Beltran and David Wright would also merit consideration. You know who’s playing well. Who’s your pick of the Met for May?
- Beltran, by the way, has a bruised right knee, but I’m betting he’ll be in the lineup tonight.
- Willie Randolph said he’ll go with the hot hand for second, so that means Jose Valentin.
- The last time the all-time, No. 2 home run leader played at Shea, it was Hank Aaron in 1973. Depending on one’s perspective, that will still be the case after this weekend.
I’ll be back later to update throughout the day. Remember, all your posts are welcome. If you can’t make it out to Shea tonight and are watching on TV and see something you’d like to comment on, feel free to post throughout the game. I’ll be online to respond to your comments, or, if you want to talk amongst yourselves, go right ahead.
Thanks … talk with you soon.
