Some thoughts on a chilly Friday …
Mets and Brewers were in a long delay. Game just started a few minutes ago. It shouldn’t have started at all.
Watched the pre-game on SNY, and you could see the breath of Ron Darling and Gary Cohen. It’s going to be a miserable night, weather-wise, at Shea.
Rain delays are something I’ll take a look at this summer. What do these guys do during the delay? Eat? Play cards? Watch TV? Could get some fun answers.
It’s always tougher on the pitchers. Especially if the game started and then there was a delay.
Teams let the fans sit longer and longer these days, because it’s so hard to re-schedule make-up games with so few off-days.
They sat for an hour-and-a-half tonight because they don’t play double-headers any more because teams refuse to give up the gate. And, the Brewers are in only once this year.
It’s that way because of interleague play and the unbalanced schedule.
A big series this weekend …
Could this be a trap series? You bet.
The Mets are sizzling and the Atlanta Braves are coming to town on Monday for a three-game series. It sure would be easy to overlook Milwaukee, a team that hasn’t had a winning record in over a decade and was .500 last year.
These are the kinds of series championship teams win and pretenders lose.
